The activities of lawyers
The most specific rules governing the profession of lawyer in Hungary are set out in the Law on the Profession of Lawyers. In addition, lawyers also carry out their activities in accordance with the rules of the Bar Association.
The profession of lawyer is an activity aimed at promoting, with legal expertise, by lawful means and in a manner independent of public authorities, the enforcement of the rights and legitimate interests of the client, the fulfilment of his obligations, the settlement of disputes between opposing parties by means of an amicable settlement, where possible, which includes participation in the administration of justice.
The most important tasks of a lawyer include legal advice in person or online, drafting and countersigning documents, and legal representation in and out of court, and are also entitled to act as real estate agents, mediators and other activities complementary to the activities of a lawyer.
It is important to know that in real estate transactions, the validity of contracts requires registration in the Real Estate Register, which is possible based on a deed countersigned by a lawyer.
In addition to real estate transactions, company procedures (incorporation, modification, dissolution) also require the countersignature of a lawyer to be registered by the court of registration.
In addition to providing legal advice, we assist our clients with drafting and countersigning documents, full legal representation in the necessary official proceedings (e.g. before the real estate authorities, other authorities involved in the granting of various permits, consumer protection authorities), and legal representation in and out of court.
We provide our clients with personalised, comprehensive legal solutions, with the aim of building and maintaining long-term, successful client relationships based on flexible and effective cooperation.
How is a lawyer's mandate created in our office?
During the consultation, the case will be discussed in detail and the lawyer will provide information on possible solutions and the next steps to be taken. If during or after the consultation the parties can agree on the case and its basic essential elements, the lawyer will prepare the retainer agreement at the client's request.
The mandate contract may be signed in person or in absentia (online), by means of remote identification.
Except for the consultation of the lawyer, the lawyer will draw up a factual report on the case, including the facts and circumstances of the case, the other necessary information and the main steps in the case. The statement of facts also forms part of the contract of engagement.
We provide legal services in Hungarian and English in the field of civil (mainly commercial) law, both in Hungarian and cross-border transactions. In criminal matters, we work in cooperation with our partners.
